Run Details: 18 Fire was dispatched with 22 Rescue to a report of a vehicle fire on west bound Route 78. Deputy Chief Al Bross responding in Engine 18-62 ordered Tanker 18-71 to by-pass the pre-established staging area and proceed into the scene based upon a heavy plum of smoke visible while responding. Upon arrival onscene Deputy Chief Bross reported a single vehcile fully involved with no occupants. He ordered the crew of Engine 18-62 to stretch an 1-3/4" attack line. The New Jersey State Police provided firefighters with a large safety zone by shutting down the highway for the initial attack. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down the NJSP opened the two outter lanes of the highway to traffic but held one lane as a safety zone. All units cleared the scene @ 17:25.

Run Details: 18 Fire was dispatched with 22 Rescue to a report of a vehicle in the woods. Engine 18 arrived on scene and reported a small school bus off the road. The bus was transporting students with special needs for the county education commission. After stabilizing the bus from a fire stand-point, the crew of Engine 18 assisted to evacuate the students from the bus. The driver of the bus is believed to have sustained only minor injuries, none of the students reported any injury. All Engine 18 cleared the scene at 09:09.
