The highest-paid women athlete of 2019 earned just 23% of what the highest-paid athlete of 2019, Lionel Messi earned. And that is a serious issue!

The 23-year old Thai professional golfer is the 15th highest-paid female athlete of 2019. Ariya had an exceptional 2018 as she won LPGA Tour’s Race to the CME Globe competition, pocketed $1 million winning bonus. She also won the US Women’s Open and worked with more than 10 brands. Her endorsements included big names like Titleist, Toyota, KBank and Thai Airways.

The only Indian and the only Badminton player from around the globe to be part of this list – PV Sindhu. World No. five is in the red hot form with the Gold in World Championship and is one of the most famous shuttlers in the country at the moment.

Her fame has also attracted several brands for endorsements. And the list of brands in Sindhu’s resume is impressive, to say the least – JBL, Bridgestone Tyres, Gatorade, Moov, Myntra, Flipkart, Nokia, Panasonic, Stayfree, Boost, APIS Himalaya, Ojasvita and the Bank of Baroda. The interesting thing to note is the fact that out of her $5.5 million earnings, $5m are from endorsements and just $500,000 in the form of prize money. And that is a huge gap in comparison to most of the stars on this list.

One of the most popular names in the women’s football, Alex Morgan recently co-captained the USWNT to their second consecutive World title. The superstar forward plays for National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Orlando Pride in the US. Her reported salary is around $250,000 for the club.
