On Sunday, Anurag Singh Thakur, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, officially opened the recently constructed 6-lane 200 Meter Synthetic Athletic Track located at the Sports Authority (SAI) of India High Altitude Training Centre in Shilaroo, Himachal Pradesh. The SAI High Altitude Training Centre in Shilaroo boasts accommodation facilities for both male and female athletes, with the capacity to house 100 male athletes and 50 female athletes. Additionally, the center features two multipurpose halls, an astroturf hockey field, 13 staff quarters, a guest house and Synthetic Athletics tracks.

The advantage of high-altitude training lies in its ability to stimulate the production of red blood cells within an athlete’s body, thereby enhancing their endurance capacity. This provides athletes with a competitive advantage during competitions. The event on Sunday witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Vikramaditya Singh, the Minister of Youth Services & Sports and Public Works for the Government of Himachal Pradesh, Suresh Kumar Kashyap, Member of Parliament, and Col. Raj Singh Bishnoi, Senior Executive Director of NSNIS Patiala.
