Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik’s Generous Gesture: Rs 10 Lakh Cash Boost for State Athletes for Asian Games

In anticipation of the Hangzhou Asian Games in China, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Declares Prize Money for the athletes from the state who are gearing up for the forthcoming sports competition. As per an official statement from the chief minister’s office, every athlete representing Odisha at the Asian Games will be granted Rs 10 lakh individually to assist them in their training, readiness, and involvement in this esteemed sporting event.

The Asian Games, renowned for uniting top athletes from various parts of the continent, provide a stage to demonstrate the commitment and skill of these sports professionals. The 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, are scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8. Thirteen athletes hailing from Odisha will be taking part in these games.

The contingent includes Kishore Jena, who will compete in athletics. Anshika Bharati, Ritu Kaudi, and Sonali Swain, who will be participating in rowing; Anupama Swain, who will showcase her skills in Jiu-Jitsu. Neha Devi Leichondam, who will compete in Kayaking and Canoeing; Pyari Xaxa, who will be a part of the football team; Deep Grace Ekka and Amit Rohidas, who will represent in hockey; and Dumuni Marndi, Tarulata Naik, Mama Naik, and Hupi Majhi, who will be taking part in rugby.

Sending well wishes, Naveen Patnaik expressed optimism that the athletes would display their skills at the Games, and this support would enable them to concentrate entirely on their training and performance.
