The highly regarded 2023 Denmark Open Super 750 badminton championship is set to kick off on October 17th at the Arena Fyn in Odense. This event signifies the commencement of the BWF World Tour’s European leg. A substantial total prize purse of $850,000 will be available for competitors to vie for. The culminating matches of the Denmark Open are scheduled for Sunday, October 22. The competition will encompass a roster of 64 singles players and 96 doubles teams representing various countries. Among the participants are one doubles pair and four singles players hailing from India.
After securing the gold medal in men’s doubles at the 2023 Asian Games, marking India’s inaugural triumph in badminton at this prestigious quadrennial event, Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are set to make their return to competitive badminton. Their first tournament since ascending to the world number one ranking, they will kick off their journey by facing Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in the opening round. Notably, they chose to skip the Arctic Open Super 500 before this event.

Ranked eighth globally, HS Pronnoy, who clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Games, opted to skip both the Denmark Open and the French Open, which are considered two of Europe’s premier badminton tournaments. Throughout the Asian Games, Prannoy persevered despite a heavily bandaged back, and upon his return to India, he underwent an MRI.
