Demonstrating outstanding collaborative skills and remarkable gameplay, Team Top-G emerged victorious at the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2023, hosted by the Esports Federation of India (ESFI). As a result, they have earned a spot in the regional qualifiers for the Global Esports Games (GEG) 2023.
Their next challenge involves competing against teams from Malaysia and Mongolia in the regional stage, all vying for the opportunity to secure a place in the prestigious global finals to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Led by Manav Kunte (mnz), the team included Krish Gupta (Krish-), Khaja Hussain (Pinkman), Ketan Goyal (Evil-ash), Vishal Vernekar (Hbk), and substitute Darshan Bata (A35), secured a 2-0 victory over The Mob in the best-of-three finals. Team Top-G represented India in the Asian qualifiers of DOTA 2 during the 15th World Esports Championships earlier this year.
Manav Kunte, the leader of Team Top-G, exuberantly shared his excitement about their triumph, stating,
“Winning the NESC 2023 for the second time this year is a surreal feeling. Securing our spot in the regional qualifiers for GEG23 is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and skill set of every team member. We want to express our gratitude to ESFI for providing the platform for us to represent India on the global stage and we are determined to make our nation proud.”
In the opening match of the finals, both teams competed fiercely, with Top-G ultimately prevailing with a score of 51-32 to seize the advantage. However, the second game was a completely one-sided affair, as Top-G dominated The Mob with a decisive 24-6 victory, securing their championship title.
