The Indian men’s Hockey team led by Skipper Harmanpreet Singh put on an impressive performance & defeated defending champions Japan 5-1 in the Asian Games final. It was a significant achievement for India, as they had previously won gold in 1966, 1998, and 2014.
Harmanpreet Singh was the top scorer for India in the tournament, with 13 goals, followed closely by Mandeep Singh. In the final, Harmanpreet scored two goals through penalty corners, while Amit Rohidas and Abhishek also found the net from set-pieces. Manpreet Singh scored a field goal to contribute to the team’s victory.

India played a dominant game, using the flanks and long balls effectively to create scoring opportunities. They constantly put pressure on the Japanese defense. Although Japan managed to convert a penalty corner, it was not enough to stop India’s strong performance.
For their dominant performance and the victory in the final, Hockey India announced a cash prize of Rs 5.00 Lakhs for each player of Indian Men’s Hockey team. Also, the support staff will receive Rs 2.50 Lakhs each.
