In the realm of athletics, Sri Lanka’s Nadeesha Dilhan Lekamge Hatarabage secured a silver medal with a remarkable throw of 61.57 meters, while China’s Huihui Lyu earned the bronze with a throw of 61.29 meters. Rani, representing India, commenced her performance with a 56.99-meter throw on her initial attempt, followed by an impressive throw surpassing the 60-meter mark on the subsequent try.
However, it was her exceptional throw of 61.28 meters on her second attempt that propelled her into contention for a medal. Ultimately, Annu Rani clinched the gold with a formidable throw of 62.92 meters on her fourth attempt, securing India’s 15th gold medal in the process.
