India’s standout javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra, who currently holds both Olympic and World Champion titles, has been granted approval by the Mission Olympic Cell (MOC). Alongside Chopra, several other approvals were also announced. In his preparations for the upcoming Diamond League final scheduled to take place in Eugene, USA later this month, Neeraj Chopra is slated to participate in a rigorous 12-day training camp in Magglingen, Switzerland.
An announcement stated that INR 5.89 lakh has been approved for the forthcoming camp scheduled from September 1 to 12. On Thursday, Chopra secured the runner-up position in the Diamond League competition held in Zurich, achieving a remarkable throw of 85.71 meters.
Additionally, Parul Chaudhary, who set a new national record by completing the women’s 3000m steeplechase event in 9:15.31 seconds in Budapest, thereby securing a quota for the Paris Olympics, has been officially welcomed into the TOPS Core Group.
