DC vs RCB Dream11 Prediction

Delhi Capitals‘ dream run in the 2019 IPL was cut short by a disappointing 40-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians. That marked DC’s third home defeat in four matches. Unsurprisingly, all the focus went back towards the infamous Kotla pitch.

The Feroz Shah Kotla stadium has never really been a desirable venue for the home team to play at, right from season one. Traditionally, the likes Morne Morkel, Ajit Agarkar, Varun Aaron, Ashok Dinda, and Umesh Yadav among others have struggled to perform well here. This season was no different.

The unpredictable nature again failed the team in the match against MI. While Rohit Sharma cleverly read the pitch conditions and fielded to specialist spinners – Jayant Jadhav and Rahul Chahar. The latter went on to scalp three wickets.

Learning from the mistake, Shreyas Iyer rightfully played Sandeep Lamichhane alongside Axar Patel and Amit Mishra. The results were instant. The Nepali spinner scalped 3 wickets with Patel bagging another two. Having restricted KXIP to 163 on a slow pitch like Kotla, the hosts were never going to have a problem in the chase. They won by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare.

Playing a similar bowling attack would be the key for Delhi Capitals. Although they are expected to make it to the playoffs, DC will still have to win at least one of the remaining three.

RCB

Playing against all odds, Royal Challengers Bangalore produced one of most hard earned win – an 1-run victory over the defending champions and table toppers Chennai Super Kings. While the first half of the 2019 IPL season has been no less than a tormenting, nightmarish event, the second is proving to be a fairy tale for RCB. While batsmen like Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers have all found their lost form, pacers like Umesh Yadav (last match’s man of the match) and Navdeep Saini too have come of age.

However, their dream run in the league may, unfortunately, be short lived. Two of the teams star performers in the recent while – Moeen Ali and Dale Steyn – will not be around in the most crucial moment for the Challengers. While the Englishman is absent owing to national duties, Steyn, on the other hand, has suffered a serious shoulder injury. It is, thus, not clear how the season would not turn out to be for the optimistic RCB team.

Predicted Winners

Although RCB have shown incredible fighting spirit in the recent matches, Delhi Capitals will be too hot to handle at Kotla. We, thus, put our money on DC.

Dream11 Hint

As Delhi Capital’s bowling coach Samuel Badree rightfully pointed out, spinners will have a crucial role to play in Saturday’s match considering the slow nature of Kotla. Thus, choose as many as you can. As was evident in the match between DC and MI, the middle order batsmen are bound to struggle as this is when spinners come out. Thus, choosing batsman who either open or come towards the end of innings.
