The RPSG Group of Sanjiv Goenka is the owner of the new Indian Premier League team, Lucknow Super Giants. The company won the rights of the Lucknow team in the auctions which were hosted by BCCI in Dubai on October 25, 2021.
Sanjiv Goenka (RPSG Group) won the bidding war for a whopping 7090 crore. The RPSG bid was about 250% more than BCCI’s base price of INR 2000 Crores for the IPL team. Interestingly, Goenka Group had bid the highest at 7,000cr in the IPL 2022 team.

The team won by seven wickets and became the first debut team to win the finals of the IPL.
