The mammoth 264-run innings by the Hitman should be called the mother of all hundreds, which is the world record for the highest individual score in ODI Cricket. Rohit’s 264 comes against the Sri Lankan side who were not formidable as they once were. This time around Rohit made up for the failure when he fell 10 runs short of the then-record held by Virender Sehwag — 219 against the west indies.
Rohit Sharma’s innings progression against Sri Lanka: 50 in 72, 100 in 100, 150 in 125, 200 in 151, 250 in 166, and he finished with a score of 264 in 173 balls. He lit up the Eden Gardens and the 2nd highest run-scorer that day was Virat who scored a half-century.

The Hitman Rohit Sharma produced a masterclass batting performance in the last ODI of the series against Australia to score a then career-best 209. He achieved this score in just 158 balls which included 12 fours and a record 16 sixes with a strike rate of 132.27.
Rohit Sharma smashed the highest number of sixes hit by an individual in ODI by surpassing the previous record of Shane Watson who smashed 15 sixes against Bangladesh at Dhaka in the year 2011.

This knock took India to 392/4 in 50 overs and eventually India went on to win the match comfortably by 141 runs. Sharma is the only cricketer to have scored three double hundreds in ODI cricket. It was also the second against Sri Lanka and the other one was against Australia.

Martin Guptill scored an emphatic unbeaten 237 – the highest score by any batsman in World Cup history, smashing the previous record of Chris Gayle who had scored 215 against Zimbabwe at Canberra in the same edition of the World Cup. It is the second-highest individual score by any batsman in ODIs after Rohit Sharma’s 264.

On 24th February 2015, Chris Gayle became the first man to score a double-century in the World Cup. The West Indies legend achieved the incredible feat in the clash against Zimbabwe in a group game in the World Cup against Australia. Gayle’s knock is special since it came exactly five years after Sachin Tendulkar’s double century in ODIs against the Proteas in 2010.
Gayle’s knock of 215 off just 147 balls consisted of 10 fours and a record 16 sixes which he shares with Rohit Sharma. He became the first non-Indian and the fifth batsman overall to score a double-century in the 50-over format. Before Gayle, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma all had achieved the feat.

This inning by Fakhar Zaman made him the first Pakistani batsman to score 200 in ODI cricket and the sixth player overall to achieve this feat in ODIs of scoring a Double Hundred in a game.
His unbeaten 210 runs in just 156-balls included twenty-four fours and five sixes. His strike rate was 134.61 which helped Pakistan post their highest-ever team score of 399 against Zimbabweans in the fourth ODI.

ISHAN KISHAN VS BANGLADESH
Ishan Kishan made history by becoming the seventh batsman in One Day International (ODI) cricket to score a double century. The left-hander smashed his double century in 126 balls after hitting nine sixes and 24 fours. In doing so, he joined the elite group of Rohit Sharma, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar to become the 4th Indian to score 200 runs in ODIs.
